Photo-Finish Friday - Firepit

The weather continues to be cool and wet, and the Bag Lady fears it may be quite awhile yet before there will be any evenings of sitting around the fire roasting marshmallows!

CherylK, over at Lake Mary Musings recently posted a picture of the firepit they built using large rocks at her home, and the Bag Lady made a comment about using old gravel-crushing cones around here as firepits. Cheryl wasn't sure what gravel-crushing cones were, so here is a picture of one. (This is actually the firepit that the Bag Lady and her nephew built for her mother-in-law - the Bag Lady's own firepit is under even more water than this one!)

Photo-Finish Friday is the brainchild of Leah at the Goat's Lunch Pail.

I did not know what a cone crusher was either. Interesting idea for a firepit. Hope yours dries up soon!

Had no clue about gravel crushers. Good innovation. Hope your firepit dries out soon.

When the cones crack or become too thin, they can no longer be used to crush gravel, but they make fabulous fire pits! The only drawback is that they are really, really heavy, so they require some kind of a machine to put them in place.

It doesn't look like anything around here is going to dry out any time soon..... it's raining, again. And there is a really black cloud coming this way. Sigh.

What a great idea for a fire pit! Something even #2 Son probably couldn't ruin.

Hope you dry out a bit soon.

messymimi - the crusher cones do make great fire pits, but can be terrible shin-bangers!
I'm hoping it dries up soon, but the long-range forecast doesn't look promising.

So sorry about your rain! Here's hoping you'll be grilling burgers and roasting marshmallows soon. Love the cone-crusher fire pit!
